Yeah you read it right!! Had to shoot the ILS 7R to get into Phoenix yesterday after a cargo run from Safford. And of course, got to hold for a while over Stanfield VOR!! I guess a C208 isnt much priority for them.
2.6 actual yesterday and 2 logged approaches. GPS into Safford, and ILS to PHX. That doesnt happen much down here!! It is kind of nice to get to use the training we paid so much for!!!

wow mustve been the 1 day of IFR for the year. sounds exciting

I had a friend miss a connection and a meeting because of low wx in phx. I had a ?? over me trying to figure that one out.

IMC in the Phoenix valley??? What happen? No moon and total power outage except for the runway at the last moment? I can't picture there being IMC in Phoenix any other way.

I looks like it got pretty nasty for a while there. I'm sure emergency services also had some fun with idiots getting stuck in desert washes.

Although, I'm still not sure I've ever seen the following described as IMC around the Southeast:
13004KT 5SM RA BR FEW007 BKN033 OVC046

:)

I don't know much about he SE, but I've learned that in the NE that's called "Gentleman's VFR."

It sure leaves plenty of room to depart or arrive under SVFR.

I can't say I've heard of "Gentlemen's VFR." Just where does the "Gentlemen's" part come in? :)

Matt, you working tomorrow? I'm on Eagle BOS -> CMH at 19:55. ERJ, snow, FZ, oh, and 25G30

Sigh...

Cheers,

-Andrew

Indeed I am. Start 1305 AUG-BOS-AUG-RKD-BOS-RKD-BOS 2100 end (ya right). Assuming we can get out of Augusta to begin with (AUG and RKD only have Type I fluid, so we may be screwed from the word off) we're supposed to be in BOS from 1830-1915, so I'll think of you stuck in the back of an RJ while we're stuck on the ramp waiting for deice :).

Well i should rephrase...i did shoot the ILS, but not down to minimums. And Phoenix would have laughed at me if I tried to get in VFR. in the clouds until 4 mile final anyway, where usually you can see the runway from 50 miles out through the pollution and dust.
