It's been a while since I've posted here (though I've been reading), but I figured I'd join the ranks announcing the beginning of their IFR training. Knocked out the Instrument Airplane (93), Instrument Ground Instructor (92) and Instrument Flight Instructor (96) written exams and am about 7 hours into the required instrument flying.

The last month has been tough from a weather and scheduling standpoint, so I made the best of it by reading the Aviation Instructor's Handbook and passed the FOI (98) last Friday. A quick trip to the FSDO this afternoon and I now possess a temporary Instrument Ground Instructor certificate. :)

I'm looking forward to what promises to be a busy and educational 2014!

What did you use to study for the airplane knowledge test?

What did you use to study for the airplane knowledge test?

Lots and lots of caffeine. :wink2:

I read the Instrument Flying Handbook, Rod Machado's Instrument Pilot's Handbook, watched the Sporty's DVDs and spent lots of time with the Sporty's Study Buddy practice tests. As well as a few ground school sessions with my instructor to further explain/clarify anything that didn't click right away.
