IFR Completion in Central CA

Happy Good Friday all..

I've been working towards the IR in the Bakersfield, CA area and will reach the minimum IMC + XC PIC hours tomorrow. The place I've been receiving training from is talking about having a DPE out for checkrides in about 6 weeks, when I'm out-of-state for my daughter's graduation. The next possibility looks like it's 8+ weeks out.

What other options are out there in the Southern/Central CA area? I've considered the PIC finish-up program, but not sure how that would work without owning my own plane.

Call them and ask. I'm sure this is not the first time they've handled this situation.

Indeed, PIC can sell you anything from a full up ten day course or shorter finishup. They can help you find an airplane to rent to use their service. I got a couple of days knocked off mine for good behavior.
