iFlightPlanner

[Alien Mind]

Just wanted to let you know, I've been experimenting with a variety of EFBs lately. I ended up with FlyQ as my main (and, yes, their behavior with the 'lifetime' was deplorable - nevertheless, that's my pick). I recently added iFlightPlanner with my AOPA discount making it ludicrously cheap as a back up. No, it's not as full featured as FF/Garmin et al - but I specifically wanted a simple back up solution. I've been happy enough with it for last few months but what prompted this posting of praise (...), is that I had an issue with it this evening - Sunday, I sent an e-mail with the details and hoped to hear (read) back from them sometime during the week. Nope, at 8pm this evening I got an e-mail response solving the issue. In summary, it is NOT a massive full featured EFB, but as a (more than) basic one, it is very good - coupled with the truly unbeatable customer service I received, I now heartily recommend trying it out.

I use the basic on-line planner for simple on-the-ground planning. I had thought about the EFB versions but I’ve been waiting for some real world feedback. Thanks.
