For those of us in the glasair community the resource of having a place to go with glasair aircraft building or flying questions, this is a welcome development.

Glasair.org and Glastarnet.org are merging!

The GlaStar & Sportsman Association and Glasair.org are merging into one organization with a single website and you are invited!

You may have noticed that the Glasair.org website has been off-line lately. Bruce Gray has done a herculean job of organizing the Glasair builders' website, but unfortunately his health is preventing him from investing time into its further maintenance.
Even though the Sportsman and GlaStar are different from the Glasair, they do come from the same factory and are supported by the same folks in Arlington. There is a lot of overlap in the areas of engines, avionics and composite construction where both groups can benefit and learn from each other.

Some Glasair-specific content is already on the glastarnet.org website and I’ll be working on adding more in the coming months with a goal to incorporate the archives from the Glasair.org website into the forums. There are specific forums for Glasair builders, similar to what you were used to seeing on Glasair.org. A notable difference is that the Glastarnet forums don't archive content in a separate area like the Glasair.org web board did - all topics remain readily accessible and easy to search.

The glastarnet.org website currently has more content related to the GlaStar and Sportsman aircraft, but the ratio will even out over time as Glasair owners start participating and contributing content.

As a result of this merger, the GlaStar & Sportsman Association name is changing to Glasair Aircraft Owners Association.

Like on Glasair.org, all of our members use their real names and we are a gregarious bunch - humor is never in short supply. I am sure you will enjoy the camaraderie as well as everything else helpful builders can offer each other.

Annual dues are $39.95 for an electronic membership and joining is easy:

I hope to see you online soon and if you have any questions, just reply to this message.
