Some of you know that I do volunteer work among the poor and people who have had less-than-perfect pasts. I've been doing this for about ten years, mainly among prisoners, ex-cons, recovering addicts, and others who have made bad decisions along the way.

Recently, though, I've been coming across more families who are in need of help. Most times I can help get them some assistance through the church, various public programs if they're eligible, or my own pocket. But once in a while I come across a need that defies any of these. When that happens, I ask for money on behalf of the needy party.

This is one of those times.

The basic situation in this case is that a mother of four had her abusive boyfriend removed from the home (good on her!). She then went pounding the pavement until she got a job (good on that, too!), but she won't be paid for a couple of weeks. I got her some food vouchers from a local grocer, but they won't last long with four kids. She also has other immediate financial needs.

If anyone is interested in making a gift -- I emphasize GIFT because you will not be paid back (at least not in this world) -- please PM me and I will send you a link to a page with a PayPal button and slightly more information.

There is no minimum.

Thanks,

-Rich

I'm in - sent you a PM. Joined the board to respond although I am active on AOPA.

Just to be clear, I have other avenues I'm working on. Once the need is met, through whatever means, I will post here and also pull down the "case" and the PayPal button on my site. I have a lot of lines in the water on this one.

Thanks,

Rich

Many thanks to all who contributed.

At the moment, I'm glad to say that the family's immediate needs have been met by people here and elsewhere, so I'm going to pull the case and button down shortly.

Thanks again to everyone,

Rich
