In an email today with updates on ICON's program for development of their amphibious LSA, was this gem. My hat's off to them:

In Memory: ICON announces with great sadness that longtime ICON team member Scott Bender died unexpectedly in a motorcycle accident in August. ICON will be auctioning an early production position (#170) and placing the proceeds in a fund for the college education of his two children.

The airplane (or mockup, or prototype, or whatever it was) looked really neat at Oshkosh. I do like their approach, it is at least a bit out of the box. Sad to hear about the dead guy, I wish them well and hope they succeed. More airplane manufacturers and more airplanes is always good for us.
