Congratulations to ICON Aircraft - which just after 7:00 am on 24 April, 2015, had their first customer aircraft complete its inaugural flight at our R&D facility in Tehachapi, California. Following a successful high-speed taxi test, A5 ASN-1 (Aircraft Serial Number 1) took to the air and performed its initial flight flawlessly.

What??!! Don't tell me they are actually going to deliver a plane to a customer?!! That can't be!! Vaporware turns into what... regular ware???

I still think we will be waiting for an aircraft to be delivered in ten years, or as long as new "investors" can be scammed - I mean found.

Well, good. I think it's a bit pricey for what it is, but nevertheless a neat machine. I could rock one of those.

A friend of mine recently spent nearly $100k on a BMW M4 car. I would take an Icon in a heartbeat over one of those.

Their headed in the right direction,I hope. Didn't see them at sun n Fun this year.

I can't help it, I am so in love with that airplane.

It is pretty cool, it just needs a bigger engine. Put the Lycoming IO-390 on it and you have yourself a fantastic airplane with grins and smiles all around!

I wish them every success, as I do with every aircraft manufacturer. More airplanes is a good thing for all of us. And the Icon looks pretty neat, too.

They have also been advertising for seaplane instructors in a few mags for a while now.

You aren't the first who thought that Icon is badly underpowered for a "fun" airplane. See Vickers Wave:

Love the look, concept and engine choice of this airplane. However, the insistence of it being LSA means it will never happen.

Screw Light Sport. Build a light, two place Jet Ski plane like this that has good baggage area and an engine big enough that makes it actually perform like a Jet Ski and you have a winner. You know, the IO-390 might not be enough. Maybe IO-540 is better. Imagine having an Extra 300 that floats and lands on water. That's what I'm talkin' about!! :thumbsup:B):happydance::cheers::rollercoaster:
