The wall plug adapter is 12v dc and 200 mA output. And it's broken (the cord). I've got a spare that's 12v dc and 500 mA output, same plug. Is this a good idea or do I need to go find the 200 mA unit? I'm really tired of eating up AA batteries every week.

As long as the DC voltage rating and +/- polarity on the plug is the same it will be fine. The mA current rating on the power supply is what it can safely deliver. The electronic circuits in the radio determine what the current draw is. If a 200mA power supply is what came with the radio, any adapter that has the same DC voltage and polarity and 200mA or greater current capacity will be no problem.

Great, just plugged it in and everything is working. Didn't want to trash the radio.

Thanks!
