IACRA pilot time boxes

I am submitting a CFI renewal application. I realize I don't need to put anything into the pilot time section, but I saw that the list is now a lot longer than I remember from last time I did this. It also has grey and white bands, and I am not sure what the color codes mean. I looked in the IACRA manual, and it talks about white and blue boxes (with blue not being editable), but this is different. Any ideas?

Looks to me like they’re saving you from having to hold a ruler to the screen to keep track of which line you’re on.

Ah yes! That would make sense. I think I was reading too much into it.
