Well... $12 anyway. And spent $9 to do it.

It's a reasonable ROI this time I suppose.

I'm luckier than 55 other people today. Someone else paid for my sausage breakfast croissant.

Thanks to those who lost.

You evil person, you made money. It should be taken from you to be given to the poor people who did not win.

He didn't even clear enough to buy one drink for Charity at the strip club.

This is the first time I ever bought a lottery ticket. It's a bit daft to pass up the lose $2 option for a remote possibility of half a billion dollar payout. Missed every number just like I thought I would.

Gambling is too stressful for me. I sat around for two days worrying about getting all the numbers correct..except having them all off by 1...in the same direction.
4 = 3
10 = 9
25 = 24
etc kind of thing. That would be my kind of luck.

Yeah, but he still came out better than millions of others. I spent $3 and won $4 so I'm happy.

Of course, I've come out WAY behind over the last 20 years. I throw $1/week into a pool so that's added up to around a $1,000 loss. We won $100 once and I suggested that we just draw a name and let one person in the pool keep the $100. It really surprised me when every one of the other 39 people wanted their $2.50.

With that kind of return, Nate should start his own hedge fund. :D

Cheers

Actually the money should be repossessed by the IRS and given to people who didn't buy a lottery ticket.

Remember, it's Nate. More likely, it's gonna be shrubbery. Ni!

Heh, nah. Odds on single ball (the Powerball in fact) are 55.4:1. I just beat 55 other people. ;)

I normally blow $3 anytime the jackpot is over $100M. This time I splurged and blew $9. So I guess I paid for the next ticket.

As far as the hedge fund, not sure I'd want to get into that biz with a new 3.8% tax on investment income above 500K looming. Going to be a lot of scheckles moving off-shore when they realize they need more than a 4% rate of return to make any money.

:dunno::dunno::dunno::confused:..

Lottery tickets are 2 bucks each,,, How did ya come out with a odd number?

P.S. Anyone who thinks this was my "lucky day", never underestimate Murphy. Or Karma. Or whatever.

Karen decided to play bumper cars with someone on her way to a rehearsal tonight. $500 deductible.

Or if you're a glass-half-full person, she wasn't hurt and neither was the other person.

Winning $3/Net was just Karma whispering in my ear while it reached for the lube. Ha. ;)

We'll see what the insurance rates go to next year. The gift that keeps on giving!

Powerplay. Otherwise I'd have lost money. ;)

Thanks for clearing that up......

I had a friend buy me 4 tickets as he lives in Idaho and Wyoming does not have a lottery. For the record... This is the FIRST time I played the lottery and I don't like to lose at anything.:mad::mad::mad::mad:..

For all you experts out there... Do I win anything by getting 2 out of 6 numbers correct ?:dunno:

I somewhat agree that they are another tax but I figure that at least with this one I stand a small chance of getting something in return :)

Either you don't understand the magnitude of the phrase "small chance" or you understand government utilization of tax dollars very well.

Funny that this thread appeared in my list directly after Nate's "car accident" thread....
