240 kts true, 40 kt stall speed.
What's not to like? 'Cept I bet the v-tail configuration probably makes it a bit more challenging to fly?

Didn’t realize it was a retract. I love the wide window between top end and stall speeds.

I’m with you. Where can we get one?

Huh. I checked, they're not currently hiring pilots

Look at those Fowler flaps!

Here's the unmodified version: https://www.flyrisen.com/risen-SV916

At first glance, I like it. Kinda looks like a Rotax-powered, V-tail Panthera. 772 pounds empty, 1378 gross so 606 useful. 27 foot wingspan, 48 inch wide cabin. Fuel tanks of either 32, 47, or 57 gallons. It burns 7 gph and goes 180 knots with a range of 765nm (standard tanks) at sea level. Same fuel burn at 9,000 feet it'll go 195 knots for 830nm, and at FL180 it'll go 215 knots for 905nm range.

Climb is a sporty 2200 fpm at 95 KIAS, and given that it's a turbo (Rotax 916) it should maintain that to the critical altitude. Redline airspeed is 205 KIAS (and 243 KTAS). Yellow arc starts at 170 KIAS. +5/-3 G, 20 to 1 glide. Wow.

Takeoff roll under 600 feet, landing roll under 700. 850/985 feet to/from 50 feet up.

It's not 100% clear if it meets the MOSAIC Sport Pilot criteria, but given that it stalls with flaps at 43 KIAS I'd say it's got a chance at the 59 knot clean stall. Looks like a fun little airplane!

From what I recall the VNE is ~240 knots of true air speed, but in level flight it can only do 220 knots true at 18,000 feet.

Someone has one of these near me. He'd said he was interested in photos, but we never made it work. I'll reach out again!

At my age ,goes much faster than I could keep with.

There was a profile on AOPA a while back on this plane. I give the reviewer props for being brave enough to get in it. Spectacular performance numbers for sure, but dig a little deeper. They are achieved by building the absolute minimum structure to accomplish it. For example, the gear speed is 95 kts. Think how much fun that will be when you cruise at 180. And now you're probably only about 20 kts above the clean stall.

This thing looks about as durable and robust as a piece of damp tissue paper.
