Pre-takeoff checklist
I just read the post on SSD (solid state hard drive). My old Compaq laptop has been everywere since I bought it in 2004 and served me well....but it's showing some wear and getting behind in the times. It's time that I get a new laptop and because it will get broken in finishing my tour in Iraq SSD caught my attention for the speed and dust. It was 1200 dollors all said and done (128GB SSD, 2.1GH dual Intel, 4GM RAM, high def. moniter, N networking card, and 256 MB video card.) It was discounted somewhat because of a military program. I'm been impressed with the reliability of Dells in the desert so it was going to be my next computer. It will arrive on the 26th so I will post what I find. I did look at Apple but couldn't take the leap.
