Been planning this trip for a month to go see friends in Minnesota. Had the rental reserved 5 weeks out. Had the flight planned. At the last minute the Low pressure just stopped right over the state.

We're loading the car now.

I want my instrument rating.

I know the feeling!! I remember planning trips with friends... i always had that feeling of anxiety and really hoped the weather would be good that day.

Yep, that's a great reason to get one. Of course, there will still be days when it isn't practical to go, but it might just be a delay instead of a cancel.

Yea jason, an IR would have been perfect for the weather system you wouldve been flying through. All the tstorms are to the south in KS (note im not in wichita) and the celings through iowa and MN are relatively high (1500+)
