I need a bike

I realize that. I used to have one. In the USA though, scarce.

Yeah, but the parts supply network is completely different from what t was, global container shipping is cheap as chips, and the global network has been designed around the 'just in time' model. You may not be able to walk into a dealer and have a part today, but you can go on the Internet and have it in 3-5. I deal with this on yachts all the time, and the amount of spares we carry even on global traveling yachts has greatly declined over the last decade because it's not all that necessary for non critical items.

We had a pair of folding Biblasi folding scooters. My wife took a dive on it the first time we had them out. I got her to the side of the road and scooted home and got my truck and retrieved her and the scooter. On the plus side the pair of them fit nicely in the back seat of the Navion. On the downside, they're even twitchier than most of these small scooters.

These things are NOT motorcycle. Those tiny wheels, etc... are nowhere near as stable. I disagree, if you drive these at their max speeds you very well can dump one every bit as severe as a real bike. I've opened a few up on taxiway papa over the years. They tend to max out at about 30 MPH so you take your life in your hands on any road where the cagers are doing faster than that.

The di blasi didn't even make that. I was entirely ****ed when some guy on a recumbent bicycle passed me on the US 41 frontage road at Oshksoh.

Since we are on about M/C laws and licenses anyone else ever notice they try not to renew your M/C privileges when you renew your license or switch states? Always have to remind them to add it to the new one. Have friends that have had the same experience.
PS I don't think 50cc scooters are 50 state exempt from scooter or M/C laws.

As long as you are legal in your home state, you are legal in all others.

For what we will do with the scooter there isn't much sense getting the endorsement.

WARNING: This is not a useful reply.

Go ahead and buy the Bonanza. That's where you'll wind up after everybody's advice anyway. :D

SACHS is one of the oldest and biggest names in the Moped business.

They are around for a while. I have a 1941 Wanderer using a Sachs 98cc engine

The company using the trademark now has very little to do with the original Sachs company.

To the OP-

You like vintage stuff, how about one of these? Probably bigger than 50cc though...

Come on... Vespa is so passe. Everybody has vintage Vespas. Stand out with some rattle and clank!

The problem is that the rattle and clank is usually in the gooseneck and ends up with the front separating from the back in a pot hole and the resultant 'face plant'.
