I Love Uber - "Take Off With UberCHOPPER"

Yeah that is pricy. You can arrange helo tours in other parts of the country at a fraction of what they're charging. Just last month I treated 3 friends to a 10 minute flight for $120.

Yeah, that excursion is pricey. But you know Uber's ultimate goal is to test the waters of a chopper on demand service!

Considering the pricing we used in the Black Hills ( Mt Rushmore ) was $249 per person for roughly 30 minutes and $399 per person for roughly 55 minutes and did not include all the other stuff that they are including - I'd say that is a very fair market price, or did I miss where it said this was a charity and not a for profit business?

+1 just a matter of time.

Orbic at least has a 135 certificate. It's not some private pilot who owns an R44.
Amusingly their website has pictures of their JetRanger that was involved in a triple fatal last year (which they're being sued over by the estate of one of the passengers).

Don't think they need a 135 for this...they're not landing anywhere but where they take off, so no transportation involved. This seems to fit into a Part 91 sightseeing op, presuming they obey the distance limit for such ops.

This is not under the part 119 exemption. The helicopter ride is one-way from somewhere in downtown LA to Malibu Wines.

Don't worry...it's just a matter of time before until you can click on the Uber app and some newly minted Rotorcraft pilot wisks you and your friends away in his rented Robby. [/sarcasm]
