I really enjoyed the three years I spent working up there. I never had to wonder where I stood with anyone, I knew immediately because they cut to the chase...no BS'ing necessary.

It's so unlike many other places that I've lived and worked where people will be nice to your face all day long and then talk smack about you as soon as you turn your back. I hate fake people.

And we Missourians? According to the research, we're almost as gruff as Ohioans!

Apparently my state is the least-swearing one, which comes as a complete surprise. I would have thought Utah.

Born and raised in Ohio. Learned to swear there. Joined the Marine Corps, where I perfected it. Eventually moved to Wisconsin, where I'm trying to raise up out of the goody-two shoes category. Obviously the data collectors weren't around when we are shoveling off our driveways in -5% weather.

Hey man, I am in construction and could teach a drunken sailer a few new words if needed. Also born and living in Ohio. I hesitate to say I am raised yet.

I have a funny story about Ohio. When I was a little kid, somewhere around 6-8 and late 1970s, my family drove from Pennsylvania to Colorado. We stopped at a rest area in Ohio, and it had outhouses with no plumbing. For years after that I thought Ohio didn't have indoor plumbing.

What's humorous is that Louisiana is the fourth worst cussers but the fourth most courteous.

"Will you please kiss my f'ing azz sweetie? Pretty please?"

NJ born and raised.…....as a kid in camp I got an award for "kid who curses the most". And yes, Im proud of that. Fast forward to living in Charlotte, I've shocked quite a few people. When I met my CFI I said "I have a jersey-mouth, are you going to be OK with that?". Haha, its worked out fine, but I do try to scale it back a bit around the southern 'softies'.
