I’m a long time Neil Young fan. Yesterday I watched a video of one of my favorite Neil Young songs, “Long May You Run”. The lines “We found things to do in stormy weather…” and “Well, it was back in Blind River in 1962 when I last saw you alive…” led me to believe the song was about a lost friend or lover. YouTube comments show many found comfort in the song in times of loss. But those comments also make note about what the song is really about, which I never knew. Is it more common knowledge than I thought?

(Note: should be “I learned something…” obviously. Maybe a mod can change it before the leaning jokes start?

I richened it just a bit.

Nauga,
who is neither rich nor lean

Chrome heart shining . . Trunk full of memories . . . Long may you run?

Song pairs well with Queen's "I'm in love with my car" lol

And what is it actually about?

A hearse named Mort. It died when the transmission lunched itself.

"Well I heard Mr Young sing about her
Well, I heard ol' Neil put her down
Well, I hope Neil Young will remember
A Southern man don't need him around, anyhow ..."

;)

Marian Call, "Good Old Girl":

"Time will turn her tide
It's far too much to take
But my girl don't know when to break
So she'll make, she'll make her way
She's a good old girl
She'll fly true
...."

Written for a couple of spaceships, but applies to many of us flying older, well-used aircraft.

For what it's worth, I recently learned that Manfred Mann was not singing about late night feminine hygiene practices.
