Which pizza delivery company are you planning to drive for? ;-)

Congratulations!...walking off that campus for the last time as as student was still to this day one of the biggest feelings of relief I have had!

...now welcome to the real world!

Congratulations, Kevin! Seems like only yesterday you were trying to pick a school...

Ohhh come on. Young people with fresh degrees have a good chance of landing a decent job. Now if he was just laid off, pushing 60 with a 20 year old degree, you might have a point...

Congratulations, Kevin! Good on you...

I actually have a job lined up although it is a temporary summer job. It is the same job I got working last summer at a cargo facility at a major airport. My goal is to work hard so they can hopefully convert me to a permanent employee if possible, and at the same time, find another permanent job (hopefully working in airport operations or GA) in case if my summer job ends at the end of the summer. I have several connections in aviation that I made in college and outside of college, even my CFI is a possible connection, since I think he knows people who work at a medium-sized airport near the GA airport where I usually do my flight training.

I didn't have much time to reply last night, but here is a longer more in-depth job reply....

I graduated less than 6 months ago with a business degree from a huge university, meaning that when it's graduation time there is a HUGE influx of graduates in the area all at once. I graduated December 20th and started my job on January 22nd. Total time job hunting was about 2 weeks, 3 interviews at 2 different places (didn't get the job I had a second interview for). No it's not the best-job-ever but it's a job that is giving me real world experience in an industry I love (aviation) and it still allows me to flight instruct. My boss knows my future plans involve advancement either in our outside of this large company. The connections I've made already are invaluable. So although you may not find your dream-job the day you graduate, you may be surprised to find an "interim" job that is satisfying and will help you achieve your longer-term goals.

Thank you for your advice Mir!!! :)

I have been out 15 years and I still have that dream where I am not going to graduate because I am missing my last final exam and cannot find the classroom.

I hate that f#@king dream.

Congratulations.

Try the one where you're supposed to be giving the exam, but you haven't written it and haven't even lectured in the class in memory.

Oh, and you discover you aren't wearing any pants.

Do you have the dream where you see yourself standing in sort of sun-god robes on a pyramid with a thousand naked women screaming and throwing little pickles at you?

Or am I the only one?

:D

When I was younger many dreams involved monsters attacking me. Fortunately I tended to be armed with edged weapons or chainsaws.

In college I walked into not one but 2 tests absolutely cold, hadn't studied at all. Did very well on both. That sort of nightmare never bothered me.

The ones where I show up to class in the middle of the semester not knowing what I'm doing (and pant less) are pretty disturbing, though. They really shouldn't, since I walked into a class once with no preparation of any kind (an early Monday morning lecture I forgot I was supposed to teach). The students thought I gave great class, as did the guy I was teaching with.

I presume that the "little pickles" are a metaphor for your inadequacies?
