So there I was right, I had just ordered my burger at the burger place, and I sat down with my plastic number and waited. A couple tables over was a thin geeky looking guy with this strange expression on his face. Like, maybe he was squinting to see if his burger was being delivered. Except it might have not been a burger. It might have been Teriaki. They do Teriaki at this place too.

But then it became apparent that he was wearing Google glass. He appeared to be surfing the web or something, not sure. He was staring off in to space in a manner that would have probably had him institutionalized twenty years ago. Note that twenty years ago, he could have been doing the same thing squinting at the screen of a modern smart phone, except he would have probably been given a pass as he would have been looking at an inanimate object, versus staring off in to space.

Nobody attacked him. He didn't appear to be actively performing video surveillance on the place, but who knows. The thought briefly crossed my mind to ask about them. "Hey buddy, what do you think about that...." then it occurred to me that it might be taken as some sort of gay pickup line. Now if it had been a geeky Asian chick wearing them instead of a geeky Asian dude, I would have been all over that. "Hey baby, you're wearing my Segway!"

Who spends two grand on a gimmick like that. Then I realized. Dude has bling. I'm not in to watches, but those that are in to watches probably would have classified his watch as a nice expensive watch. He probably bought all of his clothes at the Gap, and deliberately avoided all sales. (What the hell was he doing at a run down Mom and Pop burger joint?) Ahh, the Teriaki. Of course. Stupid question.

That was a first. I've always been curious about Google glass. I might buy a pair for fifty bucks. Maybe a hundred, tops. Two grand? Not that interested. Anybody here have it?

I used to work with a guy who wore glass. He was the IT guy and had never heard of Ingress. So I signed him up and he blasted through the levels.

Have to admit its weird talking to someone wearing glass. Maybe its a social norm thing I can get over...dunno.

Jeez, I work down the FN street from the GooglePlex (and it's a real convenient shortcut to the airport in the afternoon commute), and I've never seen someone in public wearing Google Glass.

When flip phones came out (and then the iPhone and Android), you would see them walking into light poles on Castro St., but the Glass thing just doesn't seem to be everywhere, even in its home.

And the Google guys themselves have "bling" made by Gulfstream and Dornier.

When Glass can hit the market at the $395 price point, it becomes a viable product.

Crap, I'm behind. Had to Google the Google Glass to see what the heck y'all were talking about. I saw Nicholas Cage wearing those back in the ninties.
