Line Up and Wait
I was finally am getting all my flying books out the boxes and found this one. It is " I Could Be So Lucky Again" by Jimmy Doolittle. It is not a fast read for it is very full of a long life of flying and aviation firsts by the author. I found this book in the mid 1990s in the Brattle Book Shop in Boston ( a great used book store like the Strand in NYC, they have a great aviation selection) sitting in a bin that had not be sorted. I quickly brought it to the check out and I was charged 2 dollars for it. It is a wonderful story of Jimmy Doolittle's flying career. It was published in 1991 by Bantam Books. Carrol Glines was the cowriter on this book. James Doolittle has a very clipped tone in his writing style ( matter of fact) but it really is a fun read. Some libraries I know have it and it is a nice book to read on a summersday about early flying including the flight of the Gee Bee and of course the raid on Tokyo.
Enjoy and thank you
