It's fascinating to try and spot when the waves coming off of the N. African coast start to wrap up and become something, and the interplay with the dryer air swirling north of them. Right now, check out what's trying to get organized off the N. Carolina coast.

As an aside, open invitation to evacuate to Copperhill, TN (1A3) if you find your plane in the path of a storm. I can likely find you hangar space and lodging for a few days if needed.

El Nino is breaking down, so we'll have some named storms sooner or later. If the stuff I've been reading is true, they'll be whoppers. And lucky us, for years our government has beens subsidizing developments right in the path of those things.

Can hardly wait, did a trip to the Midwest, about a month ago, after flying in between fronts ,I now know why everyone in the Midwest hangars their plane.

The NHC outlook for the season is about as clear as muddy water. They basically said because of climate change and the possible end to the latest AMO cycle it's a toss up in any direction.

"While a near-normal season is most likely with a 45 percent chance, there is also a 30 percent chance of an above-normal season and a 25 percent chance of a below-normal season. Included in today’s outlook is Hurricane Alex, a pre-season storm that formed over the far eastern Atlantic in January."

At least their being honest.

Well you can take that to the bank!

Our local weatherman on ABC 7 said this about the current climate outlook for the summer.

"Good chance for above average rainfall in SE Texas with below average rainfall just northeast of AR. If you're wondering what "EC" means, that's "Equal Chances". That means the odds don't really favor average, above average, or below average. If I were you, I'd ask for more information than that with my tax dollars. "

I had a good hardy laugh over that one.
