For those of you that have human friends, do you allow them to eat cat food?

I've looked at several lists of what is and is not safe to feed them.

My question comes because of my buddy Brion. He's a retired Maine lobster farmer and if I'm feeding my cats, he wants some also. I don't believe there is anything he will not eat!

He's seventy-six years old now and the doc says he's likely got another 4-5 years in him. His is diabetic (yes he gets insulin) so there's that ...

Yeah, humans are omnivores, so feel free to give them bits of the mouse or rabbit that you're eating. They can also digest our dry kibble, and even dairy products like cheese and yogurt (though I've heard that some of them may be lactose intolerant).

But keep an eye on their stool, as it is often an indicator of health. Humans are weird though, and instead of going on bits of dried clay, they soil their own water with their urine and feces then quickly get rid of the evidence, so you'll have to act fast after a "movement". Not sure I understand it.

Don't knock the pate. It's pretty good, especially spread on a cracker but like the kitty, I can't eat crackers.
