Hi everyone! I am a new member of this group and I am happy to be a part of it!
I am currently a graduate student in the Human Factors PhD program at the University of Central Florida. I am an aviation enthusiast and took my first flight lesson a couple months ago. Though it will probably take me awhile before I earn my license due to being in graduate school, with a teacher assistant salary! I look forward to living vicariously through those of you who already are living my dream by reading the posts on this page!

In the meantime, I am trying to do some research about general aviation in an effort to improve safety within the field. My primary interest has been in flight simulation for training purposes. Currently, I am trying to get some feedback about pilot's perception of simulation flight training.

If possible, please fill out my survey at the link below to help me in my endeavors. It is short and you will be entered to win a $20 gift card just by participating. All participants must be general aviation pilots with a license. And, if you know anyone else who would be willing to participate, please pass this information along. Thank you!

Went through the questions. Might want to target your questions a little better. I've been in rough early versions of msfs and G650 sims at flight safety. MSFS for PPL.... Worthless and boring. MSFS for IR, still boring but useful. A full motion G650 sim? I could spend months in it playing around.

responded... curious how knowing my "human traits" will tilt the data.

I have little more than an hour in the Redbird full motion sim with the 6-pack panel. I agree that I could spend lots of time in there.

The owner (Ray @ www.atrcsim.com) is a big proponent about coming to his place before a big trip to strange lands to learn approaches at your destination. Ray will even volunteer to sit in the instructor/ATC seat and "kill" you as many times as you like. Not to be evil or anything, but to help you learn the gotchas of the approaches while simming rather than while your actually out there trying to keep up with rapid fire ATC instructions, passengers, and remaining in front of the aircraft.

Thank you everyone!
I will take your comments into consideration.

If you know anyone else who may fit the criteria, please pass it along!

Thanks,
Jennifer Leavens
