We used to do that in our department as well. We'd get to hack through it with everything from a crash axe to the jaws of life.

If you want to really see firefighters beat on a car, park it in front of a fire hydrant when it's needed.

They will make VERY quick work of it.

Back when I was on a FD, I always had a lot of fun tearing up cars. The line of thinking that goes into the way they open a car up to get a patient out is to "remove the car from the patient, not the other way around."

Great pictures and good job on donating....I'm sure the crews appreciated the training oppertunity.

I "liked' it. Now tell me, do you have a right side mirror for a 2009 Hyundai Santa Fe? :-)

We just released a new piercing nozzle for going through cars, fuselages, walls, etc. We went through quite a few hoods testing it out.

I took one home to water the flowers with just because it looks so mean. And it is a LOT of fun to play with.

...and I just noticed that your local fire truck has a lot of our stuff on it. Nice!

Or a labounty, or a genesis shear on an excavator, makes short work of a car or an airliner.

The commander of the crew and I talked about other crews coming out. Evidently we have a new chief who is big on recurring training. And with 8 stations and growing, we will have additional chances to let them wreck havock with our car-casses.

We recently took in a 2003 crown victoria. I might scrounge a light bar and dress it up as a local police cruiser.

Possibly. Call me in the AM and I'll see what's available. Phone number is in the page.

The FD guys like to explain to the Cub Scouts when they're giving station tours how the best part of the job is they get to break a lot of stuff.

I particularly like the building lettering.. Sean Starr is good at what he does (from one sign guy to another) and I'll give the page a liking :)
