I’ve got 11 hanging in the wind stream!

Plus, a couple in the cockpit for the Stratux, one on a scanner (don’t have a handheld yet), and whatever is on my phone and 2 iPads. Wow. Didn’t realize we were so antenna needy, lol.

10. But none in the wind stream. :)

Two coms, two navs (but only one nav radio), marker beacon and glideslope (neither are connected), Transponder, ELT, and ADSB in.

Edit: 10, forgot the GPS.

2 Coms
2 GPS
1 Transponder
2 ADS-B
1 Nav
1 ELT
1 Marker Beacon
10 Total outside

Flew an airplane that had:
COM1
COM2
COM3
GPS1
GPS2
Transponder
NAV1/GS
NAV2/GS
Marker
ADF
ELT
----------
11 total in the windstream

A SkyBeacon would have been #12 except that the transponder got updated to ADS-B instead.

....just imagine all the radio waves penetrating our protoplasm 24/7.

I drive a freaking antenna farm

Com
GPS
Transponder
ADS-B
(ELT is inside fabric)

Looks like a Porcupine.

Hmmm... I had to think about that. Mine comes in at 8 I think:

1. Com
2. GPS - GDL-39 (hard mounted)
3. GPS - GDL-82
4. GPS - Aera 660
5. Transponder / ADS-B Out
6. ADS-B In (to GDL-39)
7. NAV/VOR
8. ELT inside

Hmmm... Just the exterior ones:

2 comms
1 transponder
1 marker beacon
1 GPS

Also have a NAV in the wingtip, GDL-39 inside, and the ELT is inside. I think the tail bacon is technically not in the wind, since it replaced the position light.

5 in the wind
4 interior

2 comm
2 GPS*
1 ELT
1 VOR
1 DME
1 transponder
1 marker beacon
___
9 in the wind or *little more than a bump

I don’t even know what they all do:
-2 thick hard comm on the top of the cabin, plus the GPS teardrop, ok.
-The ELT on the empennage, plus next to it some other thick hard antenna similar to the comm???
-2 “coat hanger” VOR on the vert stab
-Marker beacon “boat hull” on the bottom.
-Transponder “shark fin” on the bottom.
-And 2 others on the bottom?? I think the big elongated puck one might be the storm scope?

  • 2 primary comm
  • 1 back-up comm for handheld
  • Transponder
  • GPS
  • Marker Beacon
  • 2 VOR
  • 406 ELT
9 total, all external.

1. VOR/LOC
2. Comm 1
3. Comm 2
4. ELT
5. GPS
6. ADS-B In
7. Transponder
8. Marker Beacon

Down to 7 after washing the belly yesterday. Hit the stupid ball on a wire transponder antenna.. At least it's the cheapest one. Will replace with a more durable fin.

1. GPS
2. Combined Com1/GPS
-that's it for the top of the airplane
3. Transponder
4. DME
5. Marker Beacon
6. Com2
-that's it for the bottom of the airplane
So, six in the wind
7. Nav - inside the horizontal stabilizer, split to two 2 Nav radios
8. ADS-B in - inside the cabin
9. ELT - inside the fuselage

Hmmm... UAT, transponder, and COM on the belly.
2x GPS under the cowl, one active and one abandoned.
ELT in the back, inside
Plus of course whatever pilot and passenger is carrying in their pockets, bags, etc.

outside: com1, com2, VOR/LOC, mkr, xpndr, ADS-B x 2 (diversity), ELT, GPS x 2 = 10
inside: Sirius XM SXAR-1; Garmin 396 XM, SPOT, Garmin InReach mini = 4

No wonder my TAS is only 143 kts!!!

Hm. Let's see:
  1. COM2 whip on top
  2. ELT on top
  3. GPS for 430W on top
  4. GPS for NGT9000 on top
  5. VOR whisker on vertical stabilizer
  6. COM1 bent whip on bottom
  7. Transponder on bottom
  8. Marker beacon antenna on bottom
  9. XM weather puck on glareshield
Removed unused mostly draggy items:
  1. Large towel bar on vertical stabilizer (old ELT?)
  2. ADF sense antenna wire and standoffs on bottom
  3. ADF loop antenna on bottom

Hah! Am I the only one who has... only one? One com radio, nothing else unless you count my phone.

Counted today. (6) 2 on top of the wings. 2 on top of the fuselage. 2 on the bottom. I have no idea what they do. I do know not to paint them. LOL

COM, VOR, DME, MARKER BEACON, XPNDR, GPS, XM, ELT

10:
Com1
Com2
Vor/loc
Gs?
GPS
Elt
TailBeacon
Stormscope
Transponder
Marker Beacon

Does a "so happy I'm flying" boner count?

My only external antennas are Com1&2, 2 transponder, 1 GPS.

VOR, marker beacon, ELT are inside.

There's always this:
