UPS decided to deliver my new Stratus about 4 hours late today and I didn't have time to charge it. Thought about trying to charge in the airplane but decided not to. Now, due to age related brains and the boss saying "I am Hungry" rushed off and left it in the plane. Leaving in the morning for OSH. Going to plug it in at the airport while refueling etc. but curious as to how long it takes to charge a new one?

It takes an hour or more. My rough experience. I've run it connected to an airplane power port/USB adapter with no problems.

Plug it into the aircraft while flying, should be fine. Amount of recharge time depends on how much it has bee used.

Out of curiosity, is it a 2S? I'm still waiting on mine.....

Yes it is. Hard to give a definitive report since I didn't have one before and just used this one today. I love the information available all the time, the radar picture (yes I know it is not a weather radar but combined with Foreflight I made the decision to fly further west of my intended route and stay in good weather for the trip. Finally turned on traffic and was happy to see the returns I did. 2020, although expensive is going to offer a great safety boon in my opinion.

AHRS....showed me nose down 90 degree bank. Wasn't sure about the calibration and moved it to level. I mount the unit on its side in the left lower windscreen (C182)

I am at OSH and will talk with the people this week to make sure how to use it properly.

I have a "2" and it hardly ever seems to charge sitting on the glare shield. Always "too hot" to charge.

It doesn't matter much though, because it's always plugged in..

My "2" takes a while to turn green. If I use it for a few hours, it seems to take over an hour to get back to 100%. No hard numbers because I never know how low it is, but I've thought in the past that charging took a while.
