How long before I understand everything??

So, you should be precise, except when it is not needed?

In what sense is using the officially designated IATA code of an airport being imprecise?

Sure, I could give the GPS coordinates of every airport, and it would be VERY precise. It would also be substantially MORE difficult to interpret.

As long as you feel like you are effectively communicating to your audience, then you should do as you see fit.

And then we can have more threads of people asking what stuff means, or, more people not reading threads because they don't want to waste time looking up cross-tables.

Didn't see it listed yet... but don't forget one of the more important acronyms...

"That panel upgrade cost me 18 AMU's"

AMU = Aviation Monetary Unit = $1,000

And because flying has roots from the military, many acronyms cross over to civilian GA:

FUBAR
Tango Uniform
SNAFU
CAVU
Charlie Foxtrot
