How do I keep iphone from changing what I type?

I like spell check, but I hate it when I am typing and the iphone changes something that I typed. How can I turn that off?

It's called 'predictive text' and should be under keyboard settings.

I'll look for that. I don't mind it making suggestions, I just hate it when it changes something that I typed and did not select one of their suggestions.

Go to: Settings > General > Keyboard > Predictive = on/off

I'm going to go back and try it again, but "predictive" and "auto correct" both turned off spell check. I want it to check and to hi-lite misspelled words. I just don't want it changing what I type. Perhaps I made a mistake before being interrupted.
