Those of you who watched tonight's NBC News, at the end would have seen Michael Murphy. Not the late Michael Murphy, but his namesake U. S. Navy ship as it sailed into New York City for a ceremony honoring the fallen hero.
The magnificent vessel was built by Bath Iron Works, eight miles up the road from my house. During a flight a couple years ago I grabbed a shot as I overflew BIW. The ship seen floating beside the yard is the Michael Murphy.
We are proud of our ships and those they honor.
