Stolen from the piper chat page.

Took down our Rebel flag and peeled the NRA sticker off the front door. Disconnected the home alarm system and quit our candy-ass Neighborhood Watch. Bought two Pakistani flags on eBay and raised them in the front yard, one at each corner, plus a black flag of ISIS in the center. Now, the local police, Sheriff, FBI, CIA, NSA, Homeland Security, Secret Service and other alphabet agencies are all watching the house 24/7.

I've never felt safer and we're saving $49.95 a month and leaving our doors unlocked -- like the good ole days!

Ha, you think the FBI, CIA, NSA, HSA or SSA are gonna put down their burgers and stop someone from busting into your place and carting all your stuff away?

In your dreams...

With all the gang shootings and burglaries that have been going on recently in the neighborhoods that border my little corner of paradise, I've wondered why that $&*! doesn't ever migrate up the hill. But, then I think, with all the American flags, NRA stickers and shiny expensive looking SUVs and monster trucks up here, plus the fact that there's only one road to get in or out on, the criminals probably figure there's a well armed redneck waiting behind every locked door, and the risk just ain't worth it.

I had to laugh the other day. A beat up older Ford Explorer drove up and parked across the street from my house. Within minutes I had 2 calls on my cellphone informing me about the 3 large "rough" looking men sitting in an unfamiliar vehicle in front of my house.

By the time I got up and got dressed and walked out the front door (I was working nights then), there was already an MVPD talking to the guys. I love my new neighborhood!

I believe there are folks here that are wrapped a little too tight.

One of my friends has the high-dollar fancy-Dan security system. One night the system started flashing lights and sounding the "intruder" alert. No one from the company ever called, no police ever showed up. Just another load of security theater crap.

I'm happy with my dog and my Colt.

We are a little 'old school' with home security. Some warm fur is nice too.:)

YUP......:yes::yes:....

X2. There is something comforting with the little pony on the side as well.

Ginny hens are a better choice, nosey as hell at any disturbance, at any time, lay eggs, eat all the bugs they can find. You don't get attached and can eat them if the time comes. and you don't care when one dies.

At one point I lived near the end of a long private road, only partially paved. A car I did not recognize went past and soon came back, the local dogs chasing and barking. 30 minutes later, same car came down and turned around in the vacant lot next to mine, not far enough down the road to be interesting to the dogs. I got the tag number and could see three men in the car. Something didn't feel right - possibly that they came back to try again.

I called the police and they could barely be bothered to put their donut down to take the information. I guess someone actually ran the number through the computer, though. Immediately they called back, trying to get a better description of the car, which way it headed on the main road, how many in the car, and so forth. Evidently the plate number hit the buzzer for them.

I never heard anything further. Thankfully.

so does your dog.

Ummm... interested in what kind of dog you have. Mine doesn't crap on the roof of the house and car, doesn't crap all over the propane tank, or the porch furniture, and everything else outside over 6 inches tall...:lol::lol:

And when the Canada geese take off, run for cover brother, they are good at their bombing...
