"hitchhiking" on a private plane?????

Is it possible? Hi; I'm Christopher and am interested in "hitching" a ride toward the south east (for the winter) from Santa Fe, NM. I am an ordained minister who performs free food kitchens and various assistance programs for the needy. I am interested in flying and possibly (some day) obtaining my pilots licence. If any one has some input on this idea; please respond to this post. Thanks.

Its doable, if you can find a pilot who is already flying to the same place or nearby to where you want to go which may be kind of tough. If you do you find such a pilot and trip you will have to go when he or she wants and will likely be limited on luggage.

Keep in mind while its a heck of a fun way to travel you might be better off finding an inexpensive commercial flight which will likely be less than your fair share of the fuel or costs for the flight.
