Felt the same way about the first. I'm a Mel Brooks fan (Spaceballs, Young Frankenstein, Blazing Saddles, etc.) but I was really bored with History of the World Part 1. I tried to like it, but it was just too much slap-stick humor. Maybe it's because Mel Brooks is actually the lead actor in it, versus his other movies where he usually just does cameos.

This one's worse, though its been a very long time since I saw Part 1. Interestingly, on Rotten Tomatoes, the critics liked it somewhat better than the audience - 72% vs 34%.
