Final Approach
Good morning
Already thinking about NEXT summer's "trip with Mom (and maybe Dad)". This is even though THIS year's trip hasn't even commenced yet.
Next year is likely going to be looking up our roots which means heading to Austria-Hungary. Vienna for certain, and Prague and Bratislava (one or both).
I always give my Mom book recos before we do our trips and so I'm asking:
What book or books would you recommend about European History between 1870 and 1919? Something high level but well done (lively and engaging), and if it were all in one book that would be great but not necessary.
An example of the style I mention would be something along the lines of "A World lit only by Fire" by Manchester.
The book or books don't have to be limited to Austria-Hungary, either. Western Europe would be great and especially France/Italy/Germany.
Muchas Gracias.
