So I got this today. If anyone is interested here's a chance to land on a runway so big I often lined up on it as a student pilot since it was so easy to spot. Hill Air Force Base has a great museum and they put on a really good Air Show. It's a huge F16 base. At 135 knots, it's about 2.5 hours from Denver. Anyone interested can PM for air space info or route info as this is in my backyard.

Totally separate topic but as I was typing this, my seven year old boy walked by, saw DenverPilot's Avatar and said with out hesitation "Dad, how can a propeller plane go faster than the speed of sound?" I've never been a more proud papa.

Special Hill AFB Safety Meeting During Open House
Notice Number: NOTC3669
In conjunction with the 2012 “Warriors Over the Wasatch” Open House, Hill Air Force Base is hosting a Civil Fly-in and Safety Seminar, on May 26th and 27th.
Participants of the fly-in will land at Hill Air Force Base, park their aircraft on a secure ramp and then be escorted to an FAA WINGS certified safety seminar where topics such as airspace, physiology and mission planning will be conducted. Following the safety seminar everyone will then attend a free World-Class air show. After the final performance by the USAF Thunderbirds, Civil Fly-In pilots will be cleared to depart.
Aircraft will be parked on a secure ramp and inaccessible to pilots and public alike during the Open House. Be aware that no services (such as fuel or weather planning) will be available at Hill AFB and no overnight parking will be allowed. There are 50 slots to be had for each day on a first come, first served basis and the deadline to have applications submitted is April 26th, 2012.
Please submit a completed Fm 2402, which can be downloaded from the official Open House website. Ensure that it is signed in blue ink. Also, include in the comments section the aircraft tail number and contact information.
If you would like to attend the seminar but are unable to fly-in, you are welcome as well. Just contact the POC so that information can be distributed to you.
POC for the civil fly-in is Capt Adam Bradbury, (801) 430-6771. The web site for this event is: http://www.hill.af.mil/warriorsoverthewasatch/overview/fly-in/index.asp

I got the same notice..... I am seriously thinking about going .. but.. my concern is if weather comes in and drops below VFR what then.. The notice clearly states " no overnight parking"

If the weather looks iffy, you can always land at KOGD. I'll give you a ride.
