It shows the winds we had today.

I was driving by Airport Road today when I noticed a beautiful new 767 coming in to land, and then quickly went around again. I stuck by to watch this test pilot fly two more approaches and videotaped this last one, where he actually brought her down. It was quite exciting, and EXTREMELY cold. lol

Enjoy!

We are expecting gusts to 45MPH. It's a good day to leave the hanger door closed.

KBJC (Rocky Mountain Metropolitan - or - "the airport formerly known as 'Jeffco') ATIS went off line last night with winds at 31 - came back on line just a little bit ago with winds of 54G74 MPH.

I started off to work in the Jeep but after a couple of uncommanded and uncontrolled lane changes, I turned around and got the truck.

Don't think I'm flying today - in an airplane at least - took a few touch and gos on the sidewalk with the wind to my back tho!

I believe it. Here in Golden (or am I in Kansas now?) the winds have been at least that high if not more. I've been rocking like crazy since around 11pm. Around 2:30am the shore power went out. Around 4am, the winds started getting really breezy. I'm not even going to open the door right now lest it get yanked out of my hands and slammed open. At least I'm not parked broadside to the wind like a friend of mine is.

I really need to get a weather station and put it on the roof for days like this.

The building I'm working at (just off departure end of BJC Rwy 29) has all the west facing doors secured and the windows all along the west side of the buildings are howling like coyotes.

My wife heard on the news that Berthoud Pass had between 95-100mph winds this morning. They extended the high wind warning until 11 a.m.

man, I'm glad we didn't have snow/rain mix this morning! The tumbleweeds, sand, trash cans, cows, children and small cars where bad enough!

I saw a flock of Canada Geese trying to fly west, into the wind. They were flapping harder than I've ever seen a goose flap, and were moving down wind (backwards) at about 20mph...

Gusts around the DC area topped out yesterday at 60 mph.

I only lost power for 3-1/2 hours....
