Pre-takeoff checklist
I've been to a lot of fly-ins and pilot gatherings, but the best I've ever attended was the High Sierra Fly-in on a dry lakebed in northwestern Nevada. They have their own Facebook page,

and the fly-in is heavily covered in the Backcountrypilot.org website, but I'll toss a few pictures in here for fun. The fly-in spanned October 22-25, and brought some incredibly talented and interesting people together out on the desert floor. The flying was superb and worth every minute of cleaning required to get the playa dust washed off my plane.
