Hey Steingar...

School must be in. Haven't seen the Prof in a while. Happy bday sir.

Aaah, been wondering same. Does he usually disappears during school? His post count indicates otherwise! Happy DOB too.

He may have soured on flying? He hasn't been around Pilot Spin either though. Hope he's okay.

Didn't he recently trade up? Seems like he bought a Mooney.

Maybe he's on the Purpleboard or AOPA? Or maybe done with internet forums...

He posted on Pilot Spin a week or so ago saying he had a prop strike. That would make me mad for a bit.

Found the post in Pilot Spin. Messed up landing resulted in a prop strike.
I feel really sorry for him and his beautiful plane. :(

This is why we have insurance. Get back on the horse.

Ugh, that's horrible. In Mooneys, you get two bounces, the third one strikes the prop, every time. If I can't settle it down after one bounce, it's balls to the wall and go around.

Our Mooney is the first plane that gives immediate feedback about the quality of the landing... The Cessna was way more forgiving...:redface::biggrin:

The plane can be repaired even if it takes a while until it is back in the air.

Speaking of someone else that hasn't been around lately is EdFred. Anyone know where he's been?

I think he is taking a break

Actually, he's gone for good this time unless he has a change of heart. He's grown weary of all the folks here who seem to exist for no reason other than to beat each other down and have no intention of ever attending a fly-in and actually becoming part of the community.

And, sure, Ed is a cantankerous bastard also (as am I) but, once you've met him, you know how to take him and you know "that's just Ed."

It's kinda like me and @OkieFlyer . We've had a few minor spats here but, now we've met each other, had fun together and I can foresee future exchanges going something like:

Tim: says something stoopid (which as we all know is quite common)
Okieflyer: dude, STFU you d!ckhead
Tim: KMA, MF'er...leave me alone or I'll apply patent rights to my chocolate ice cream recipe and never let you make it again!
Okieflyer: man, you are a d!ckhead's d!ckhead.

And we both laugh instead of getting pizzed.

So, Ed doesn't like people acting like Ed? Got it.

Here's the problem with people like that: when you build that kind of online reputation, people don't want to burn an ounce of avgas to find out if the real thing is any better than the virtual.

It's one of the primary reasons I will choose the Beech Party, Waco Reunion, TripleTree, and just about any Antique Aero Association event over a POA gathering.

Can you all tell I am the more reserved Tim? Problem is that when I do go off it is like a Middle School Volcano gone wrong!!!! Tim LTD will probably live longer.

I pretty much have to refrain from any comments about this so as to not seem like a total doosh.

Well, why are you even here at all then? (Serious question, not trying to be a smart ass...I know, so unlike me ;) )

BTW...another fine example is Larry (Geico). I hated the MF'er before meeting him at Gaston's in 2015. But, once I had a few beers with him, I found him to be a great guy.

A good and valid question, and one that honestly, I don't know sometimes, other than I haven't found anything better yet for GA discussion.

I can totally understand the decision to leave. I did, for a couple of years. Having checked back in I'm regretting it more often than not.

Were you at triple tree? I flew down on Saturday with the Swift.

If so I probably saw your Beech. A few really nice examples out there.

Not this year. I had a show closer to home scheduled for biplane rides. I hope to get there next year.

I know of at least two Beech 18s that were there, though. Both very nice H models.

Is someone holding a gun to your head to stay, or you just regret it that you let it take up a lot of your time?

It all matters who is there.

It's been a while since there has been a NorCal event (at least that I was invited to....), but the folks involved were all decent.
