Back in the 1970s while in the USNavy, we made a port call to Punta Delgada in the Azores. As the designated Shore Patrol officer, I was also assigned a driver. He took me to his home. They had nothing. But it was spotlessly clean, no trash, laundry clean, kids clean, etc. I was most impressed. I never saw people do more with so little. So I agree.

Poor is bad enough. Poor and Lazy is worse.

True, but you have to remember, these people live and work at a dump, they make their living off recycling the other people's garbage.
