But Crazy Ben can enjoy these also I s'pose.

Stumbled across this today.

More here.

Yeah I heard those guys on the radio a few days ago. Incredible stuff.

Now my feeling is hurt................. And I only have one feeling...:(...

:D:D.............:wink2:

Oh Geez..... Where is that bottle of Prozac....:lol:

Yeah, but you always have to consider the source. When the person calling you crazy jumps on your snow machine the first time ever on one and floors it at a snow berm to catch some air, you have to wonder, "If they think I'm crazy, does that mean I'm worse off or better?":dunno::lol:

I don't need Prozac, I need more throttle!

Thanks, Ed. Good videos! I know about these guys.

To anyone who might be unsure, they aren't just gimmicky performers. They have completely solid chops. I'm for anything that makes the cello look cool to more than 1% of listeners (the so-called "serious" music market share).

Related with respect to making the cello look cool to the young folks:

Cello beat boxing. This guy is now a member of Pentatonix.

I like the cellist who is part of The Piano Guys, but not having any way to judge talent other than my own taste, I have no idea how fellow professionals rate his talent.

Are we just posting music now? I know this is a quartet and not only cellos, but I do like them a lot.

I enjoy most of their covers more than the original songs.

He's good. His music is simple, but so what? He has a lot of fun, and has a good attitude.

The "Happy Together" video is just fun.

If it makes you feel better, I think it is open to debate who is crazier--a homebuilder, or someone who thinks he can make a living playing the cello!

Hey, we can even make this one aviation related! For the cover of Paradise by Coldplay, The Piano Guys airlifted a piano on top of a cliff out in Utah.

Clip

Making of (I watched the whole thing. It's pretty awesome...and there are some cool shots of helicopters!)

Wow I hadn't seen that!

What does it cost to rehair a bow? That one dude tortures that bow playing AC/DC.

Whoa. That is just weird dude.

I am shocked to hear that too...

That comment came from a "non experimental" pilot.... And you know how a democrat from California wants to degrade a conservative Republican from Wyoming......

Besides..... If the cello players are in the hot tub room,, where would I keep the sheep.........:D.........

I'm convinced the cello is a gateway drug. I knew the bass player for one of the bands that used to play the local music scene - Japanese dude who was trained to play classical cello, but he ended up joining with a local band. His thing was that he played a big, huge pluck bass - the thing that looks like a cello on steroids. The band was pretty successful, then dude got tired of lugging the pluck bass around so he switched to an electric bass and shaved all his hair off. Then he acquired a cocaine habit. Last time I saw him alive he looked pretty rough.

I'm sorry to hear that! I would just say, though, that that really isn't a -typical- progression!

Did someone say "cellist"?

Coincidentally (for me,) I just watched the last episode of Star Gate SG1 last night while exercising, and in the episode the character of Samantha Carter creates a Cello because she always wanted to learn to play one - and being stuck in a time dilation field gave her ample time.

Kinda like Bill Murray in "Groundhog Day".

If you think a cello is cool, check out The Magic Pipe! He's using double bass strings instead of cello strings, but in the same family.

Here's That 1 guy playing his song "Forgotten Whales" on the magic pipe

I went to see a Buckethead concert several years ago for a ticket price of 25$, That 1 Guy was the opening act, after he finished I said "That was worth every penny right there"

I don't have much respect for Coldplay after they ripped off Joe Satriani, cool that they airlifted the piano though.
