A special notice to pilots in the western Missouri area

FAA TO ESTABLISH TFR OVER KANSAS CITY ON TUESDAY
AOPA is sending this message to advise pilots in and near Kansas City,
Missouri, that the FAA has issued a notam restricting flight in the
area during President Bush's planned visit on Tuesday, March 20.

There will be a large 30-nautical-mile-radius temporary flight
restriction (TFR) centered on the RIS VOR's 046-degree radial
at 3.5 miles, extending up to Flight Level 180. It will be in effect
from 11:20 a.m. local until 3:25 p.m. local on Tuesday. Also, there
will be multiple smaller 10-nm-radius GA no-fly zones in effect within
the larger TFR during that time frame. See AOPA Online for the full
text of the notam along with a graphical depiction
( http://www.aopa.org/whatsnew/notams.html#7/6022 ).

The affected landing facilities are Charles B. Wheeler Downtown (MKC),
Roosterville (0N0), Kansas City International (MCI), Lee's Summit
Municipal (LXT), Clay County Regional (GPH), East Kansas City (3GV),
Excelsior Springs Memorial (3EX), Hillside (63K), Johnson County
Executive (OJC), Cedar Air Park (51K), Sherman AAF (FLV), Harry S.
Truman Regional (2M1), Triple R. (0C1), New Century Aircenter (IXD),
Plattsburg Airpark (5MO), Lexington Municipal (4K3), and Gardner
Municipal (K34).

Because TFR airspace frequently changes, AOPA strongly encourages
pilots to obtain a briefing and CHECK NOTAMS before every flight.
TFR violators will be intercepted and forced to land.
