Has every one seen these already?

Nice, I almost bought that Cook brothers Willies many years ago when it was listed in National Dragster as a rolling chassis for $2500, missed it by 2 hrs.

What an AMAZING set of pics for those unbelievable cars!!

I'll take the '51 Merc and you guys can have the rest. :)

Which one do you believe is the most expensive ?

My sister owned a 58 black impala convertible I loved that car 348 quad, air ride, power windows, wonder bar radio, power antenna, continental kit.

Why do some of the cars appear to have no rear wheels? It looks like the body just sits on the floor.

I would say the 426 hemi famous drag cars would command the highest prices.

I don't know, if I could broker a sell on it without leaving my living room, I might outlay some temporary cash to make a buck or two off a guy suffering through a mid life crisis. I didn't see a single one I'd pay over a few hundred bucks for if I had to keep it. I drive a 2001 civic to commute (cheap, good gas mileage) to work and. 2010 crew max tundra to haul people and stuff. I don't see any redeeming qualities about any of these rigs. Expensive, gas hogs that don't haul much.

Just sold my dads 68 stingray. No idea what the appeal to that thing was, 8 MPG, hot in the summer, cold in the winter, iffy brakes, squirrelly to dive, complex systems for no good reason that are tough to keep running( wiper doors? Fiber optic lights? Motorized head lights?? ) and hauls almost as much as as a Cessna 150.

When I was a kid, as in a teenager, the few kids that built and owned great hot rods were at the top of the social pecking order among us, they were ultra cool.

I wonder how many of these are actually owned by teenagers, or are they owned by old men trying to relive their fantasy teenage years, the ones that they never actually had.

My dad would not sign for a car for me. He said get a motorcycle, chances are you'll only kill yourself with a motorcycle.

In my observation today, many teenagers are not only un-interested in hot rods, but not even interested in driving or owning a car, period! I don't get it. I guess video games and social media have removed some "need" to get out of the parents' house and hang out with friends... (not to mention the urge to learn to fly!)

They went from symbols of teenage freedom to tools of oppression.

no one can instill the sense of appreciation of hard work and artisanship to any one that does not understand it.

I do, it's a shame they wasted it all on a purple and gold low rider el camino.

Hard to predict what auctions bring. If the Hemi Dart is one of the factory race cars, it's in the running, the 'Blitzen Benz' is as well, and if the 53 Vette wagon is factory, it would probably take the prize.
