Attended a wedding this past weekend in Olean NY. Deb and I then continued on to the National Soaring Museum.

Great glider port and collection of historic gliders.

Will post a few more pics when we get home.

Did you take a ride? I was there last summer for the IVSM vintage glider meet, and it was a wonderful place.

Last year when Pete was there I took the opportunity to go see his really cool glider. While there I took a ride and was amazed by how close Harris Hill was to the Elmira/Corning airport. I talked to the pilot/instructor for my ride about the airspace, evidently Harris Hill was there before Elmira/Corning and "owns" the airspace because they were there first. When the airport was built they put in place an agreement that the glider port calls up Elmira to open and close the gliding activities for the day.

I was a really cool place to finally get my glider ride. I just wish it wasn't two hours away or I would be tempted to get my glider rating.

Finally got back to the pictures. What a great day and a great museum.

Wow, not sure where you got the tow pictures from but it looked like a beautiful day. I really need to get up there and actually get into the musuem. Last time I was too intrested in all the craft at the feild to go in the musuem.

There is a small scenic overlook directly under the departure end of the runway. Sit on the bench and they come directly overhead. The tow from the back with the trees on the right was shot from inside the museum through the large windows facing the runway.

The high res pictures are actually much better, just too big.
