Happy Winter Solstice 2013

Today is the shortest daylight day of the year.

Happy Winter Solstice everybody!

Solstice fun facts. http://mashable.com/2013/12/20/winter-solstice-2013/

The days will now get longer and summer flying is right around the corner!

Then I'd better hurry. Here in central Florida winter is the time to fly. 30+ mile visibility, low DA and no thunderstorms. I realize for you folks out west that 30 mile viz is practically IMC but for here it's great.

And a happy solstice to all.

*grump*

It's not the shortest day. It's the day with the least amount of sunlight. Or the shortest time between sunrise and sunset.

grumble, matter, gromish, grumble.

And don't even get me started on 'centrifugal force'

Flew Thursday. Freezing rain and scenic trees since then.

Yup, it's the solstice. Snuck up on me. I need to hurry about to find a virgin to deflower so that the sun will come back again - don't want to be labeled a slacker - and you thought those stone monoliths didn't have a practical purpose.
Those of us with Celtic genes know better.
