Fredericksburg and Gillespie Co have reached an agreement
Zat sound about right, Matt?

"•Breaking news update for March 8

Pending signatures by City Manager Gary Neffendorf and County Judge Mark Stroeher on the official easement, Gillespie County and the City of Fredericksburg have reached agreement over avigation rights at Lady Bird Johnson Municipal Golf Course.

Last week after city councilmen approved the basic parameters of a county proposal totaling $550,000, county commissioners confirmed the agreement Monday morning by approving minor additions to the proposal offered by city councilmen, including the use of Bartlett Tree Experts of San Antonio to complete the tree trimming work.

Trees are scheduled to be trimmed March 22."

Was that the entirety of the news item?

It's more than just cutting some trees.

While both sides concur the trees must be cut, they traded offers and demands regarding the proper compensation for reconfiguring two holes at the Lady Bird Johnson Golf Course, which city leaders say the trimming will necessitate.
If the cost of repairing the two holes is less than $550,000, Neffendorf said the city would refund difference to the county.

If they cut some trees, seems to me it will take out a dogleg from one hole (I have never read exactly what the tree loss means to anyone). Whoopie, sounds like a par 5 becomes a par 4 to me!

OK, let's say a big ice-storm took out a bunch of trees on the golf course. Let's further assume they happend to be the same ones that are interfering with the operations at the airport. How much hole re-routing would the golf club propose as a result of that casualty loss?

Anybody else smell a rat? Or sense a jurisdictional peeing match?
