H10-76 Headset

I found a DC H10-76 headset, new in box. it has the U-174 plug. Do the adapters work well? The headset is $100. Is replacing the whole cable an option? Or is this all defeating the purpose, and I would be better off just buying a different headset?

You now have a good quality headset for under $200. Same set-up I have for my extra pair of headsets. Used it once so far, works great.
