Guy Bulids man-Pilotable (not RC) 1/3 scale B-17!

That would have been pretty interesting in WWII for doing some precision bomb runs. Fly over in that thing and all the AA guys would think you're way up high when you're really just a couple thousand feet up. Fly in under the canopy of exploding AA, drop your one bomb down the chimney of a critical target, and buzz back home.

It is pretty amazing what people do. I really hope he flies it once or twice around the pattern, gets some great photos and donates it to a museum. I really would hate to see this become a death trap as I suspect it is.

A co-worker of mine did exactly (or almost exactly) that. Built a Waco "Cootie." The original "Cootie" crashed on its maiden flight in 1920. He built it from seven photographs of the aircraft that survive. He flew it about 16 times - short flights, and then donated it to a museum.

I bet he didn't have 20,000 build hours in it, though.

Pretty cool but not the best choice for engines. "It only Hirths for a little while" !

Great .looking project would love to see a video of it flying.
