I was wondering if anyone knows if the GARMIN 750 can treat a VNAV let down from TOD to altitude designation? Seem to me Garmin has the software to do VAs they should be able to trick the AP into doing the same for VNAV.
Any ideas?

So, KAP 140 doesn't have VNAV, and the only vertical guidance function it has is for the glidepath on the approach.

You could theoretically, maybe, put it into Approach mode well before the TOD, but I think there is an additional flag that gets set when the navigator is on an approach, so I don't think this actually works.

Short answer: Probably not. Get a GFC 500 if you want VNAV... Otherwise, you can just set up VNAV on the 750 to do, for example, a 500 fpm descent, and then set the KAP 140 to VS mode with -500 fpm, and adjust by 100 fpm as necessary while watching the needle trend.
