I was looking at a picture of a tiger that is for sale. It's 4 seats with a slide canopy. How in the world do peeps get in the back seats? It looks uncomfortable.

Entry-exit is relatively easy, front or back. Only downside to the canopy is that if it's raining when you open it, you'll get wet..

There's decent room in the back. The expansive windows make it seem even more spacious. That back seat folds down flat station-wagon-style, to make room for an impressive volume of cargo.

The top of the instrument panel is quite low, giving you the sensation of sitting at a low desk on a mountaintop. All that plus the marvelous handling add up to an airplane that's a lot of fun to fly.

Front seats also tip forward.

Slide canopy all the way back. Stick your left foot in, get your toe under the front seat bottom cushion and step on the plastic base piece under the seat cushion. Pull the opposite seat tip forward, and step down into the floor of the back seat. Spin around, and sit down, while letting the front seat tip back. Repeat for the other side.

I find them quite comfy front or back. It's quite spacious feeling due to the canopy and low side rails. It's not any bigger than others, but it has a large airy feeling to it.

Just slide the canopy back, flip one of the front seats forward and let the rear passenger step in. Its actually easier in my opinion to get in the back seat of the sliding canopy than a single door low wing in the same catagory.

Lots of positives on the Tiger (we could start another thread)

But the the draw backs related specifically to your post on the Tiger back seat are:

1) When you slide the canopy all the way back it covers up the handle for passengers to use while climbing on the wing. So leave it forward until every one is on the wing (step area) before sliding it all the way back.

2) If you are putting 2 in the back seat then have the front passengers on the front of the wing before the two in the back seat fully load, otherwise the plane will tip back from aft CG when you put weight on the wing step to get on.:hairraise:

3) Rear seat passengers taller than 5'-9" will bump their head on the slope of the roof in turbulence:mad:

4) while the rear seat folding down is AWESOME for 2 people and lots of baggage (and skis) . It stinks for 3 and long baggage (like skis) cause it doesn't split.

Thats about it regarding the back seat, but dont take my post the wrong way. The tiger is a great bargain and fun plane to fly with many positives, and a few negatives (like any plane)

Only on the 75-77 models. They moved the handle in 1978 so it's still grab-able with the canopy open.

What pilot ever said "looks hard to get into the back seat" ?
Not my problem - I'll never be back there! :) :D bwahahaha

Sorry, it's late ... g'night
