I have been told to use either Flamemaster CS3330B or PRC 1428B to reseal 2 fuel access panels on an AA5. Has anyone used these and have a preference for ease or lifespan? Is there a better product? Also they come in 2.5 oz., 3.5 oz., 6 oz., and pint. About how much will I need for 2 access panels? Thank you.

Without knowing the size (perimeter) of the access panels, it is hard to know how much material you will need. That said, think about how much toothpaste you'd need to lay down a quarter inch wide, 3/16" thick bead in the right place and order that much (or just a little more) proseal. If you know any Van's RV builders, they probably have enough to share with you and can help you get the mix ratio correct. Getting the ratio correct, cleaning the surfaces, and thoroughly mixing the proseal are the key factors. The two products you listed meet the same mil-spec, and are functionally identical. Whichever you can get easiest is the one to go with.

For the access panels you want a low adhesion product, like WS-8010, otherwise you may never get those panels off again without damaging them. You would use the high-adhesion product to seal the interior of the tank. I've done my tanks 3 times over 40 years. One idiot mechanic was too lazy to purchase the low-adhesion sealant, and 10 years later it took several hours to remove and refurbish the access plate for re-use.

I thought I got a good deal on panels from the yard. It turned out they just cut the whole thing right out of the Wing. I still had to separate the panel from the leftover Wing parts and it was not easy so second again lol adhesion.

Thank you all for your responses. Am waiting for delivery of Flamemaster CS 3330B-2. Have both panels off aand cleaned, not a quick and easy job, at least for me. Stripped 2 screws and had to use EZ OUT screw extractor to remove. Just one more 2 hour job that morphed into 6 hours.
